The Queen Street Mall will buzz with energy on Tuesday 15 June in a day of free events aimed at bringing joy to older Brisbane residents while also providing resources and information on the topic of elder abuse.
Elder Abuse is often a hidden problem in our society. Behaviours that we would find completely abhorrent and unacceptable, are often experienced by older people – and this abuse frequently goes unreported.
The resource guide is a response to the mounting reported sexual assault incidents, lack of adequate education on unlawful sexual contact and the 2021 introduction of the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS).
