Inquiry into Social Isolation and Loneliness in Queensland

Social isolation and loneliness can be experienced by any person throughout their lifetime. Social isolation and loneliness does not discriminate, and now, more than ever, resilience, support and connection are important to keeping ourselves healthy and grounded as we adapt to the new normal of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The prevention and mitigation of social isolation and loneliness is a key part of the framework for healthy ageing in all age communities.

COTA Queensland provided a submission to the Queensland Parliamentary Inquiry into social isolation and loneliness.

We continue to explore how social isolation and loneliness are impacting older Queenslanders through our Community Engagement Hub. We encourage community members, service providers, and those interested to share their thoughts and insights. These insights will help to inform our ongoing work.
