Seniors are among the most reliant on public transport to get around including travel to the social opportunities that add to their quality of life, medical appointments and visiting family.
We continue to actively seek recognition of the positive contribution that older people make economically and socially to Queensland. We are strong advocates for an Age-friendly Queensland promoting intergenerational interactions, to enable people to grow to their fullest capacity.
A pre-election COTA Queensland survey of 128 older residents conducted in November and December 2014 identified three recurring concerns - health, cost of living, and transport.
