Libraries provide a safe and comfortable space for older women to spend time; either alone or with family, friends and peers; or through participation in programs and activities. Libraries support older women by connecting them to the community or bringing the community to them.
We have seen what change is possible when bureaucratic barriers are removed, shared wellbeing is valued above perceived differences, and a spirit of collaboration is encouraged.
The Older Persons Action Group has recommended delivering a mental health awareness event to increase community awareness of, and engagement in, mental health and wellbeing and promote help seeking behaviour.
We are committed to supporting you in any way we can, and to helping seniors’ organisations and service providers across the state to support and learn from each other.
