We continue to actively seek recognition of the positive contribution that older people make economically and socially to Queensland. We are strong advocates for an Age-friendly Queensland promoting intergenerational interactions, to enable people to grow to their fullest capacity.
The Queensland Reconciliation Awards recognises businesses, community organisations, educational institutions and government agencies going above and beyond their core business to foster reconciliation and pave the way for a better future for our state.
In response to the 2022 – 2023 Queensland State Budget released 21 June 2022, COTA Queensland takes an initial look at what this means for Older Queenslanders.
In July the Australian Human Rights Commission released a report on Multigenerational workforces: a guide to the rights of older workers under the Age Discrimination Act 2004.
COTA Queensland believes that the Queensland Government must take more concerted action to assist those seniors who for a variety of reasons find themselves displaced from appropriate housing and made homeless.
