The Care Army is about bringing Queenslanders together to lend a hand to seniors and people most at-risk during this pandemic, while continuing to practice physical distancing techniques.
COTA Queensland volunteer, Bryan Spiller, has been an active participant over recent months in the COTA Australia Consumer Engagement in Aged Care project.
This new program has been established to ensure that older people with disability currently receiving state funded disability services, but are not eligible for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The extra funding will see the line expanded to include outbound calls to carers of people living with dementia, as well as more specific community supports for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) seniors.
