The Strategy's vision is 'older people in the Brisbane south region experience a greater quality of life through safe connected and coordinated person-centred care in an age-friendly community.
When we focus on the group of older Australians who are not doing so well at the moment, we see numerous challenges related to finances, health, age discrimination and a general lack of trust in Government and the future.
Today most Queenslanders can expect to live into their eighties and some beyond. Longer life provides the opportunity to reconsider not only what older age might be but how our whole lives might unfold.
This new program has been established to ensure that older people with disability currently receiving state funded disability services, but are not eligible for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
