On 4 December 2020, the COVID-19 Justice Legislation (COVID-19 Emergency Response-Documents and Oaths) Regulation 2020 expiry day was extended to 30 April 2021. This time-limited regulation allows enduring documents to be witnessed via audio-visual link by a special witness and also allows for Nurse Practitioners to complete the Advance Health Directive certificate, stating the principal, at the time of making the AHD, appeared to have the capacity necessary to make it.
