Consultation on Voluntary Assisted Dying Legislation

The Queensland Law Reform Commission has been asked by the Queensland Government to develop an appropriate legislative scheme for voluntary assisted dying legislation in Queensland.

Thank you to all who responded to our request for input into our response to the Queensland Law Reform Commission’s Consultation Paper (WP No 79) outlining the key issues.

In the main people were supportive of voluntary assisted dying but with appropriate safeguards and we are working with other State and Territory COTAs as this issue is now being explored in other jurisdictions. We will continue to engage around this important issue.
