Consultation on the exposure draft of the Inspector-General of Aged Care Bill is now open.

The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety recommended the Australian Government establish an independent Inspector-General of Aged Care and supporting Office to review, monitor and report on the administration and governance of the aged care system. The Inspector-General will play a critical role in supporting continuous improvement for aged care and building greater confidence in the operation of the aged care system.

Aged care providers, sector representatives, peak bodies, older people, carers, and families, and any other interested stakeholders are invited to review the draft Bill and consultation paper and submit comments by 5:00 pm AEDT 27 January 2023.

To review the consultation paper and exposure draft, please visit their website.

A communications toolkit is also available at the above link to help raise awareness of the draft Bill for the Office of the Inspector-General and supporting consultation paper.
