To support seniors advocate for their rights, needs and interests COTA Queensland are developing a new volunteer network called COTA Community Ambassadors.
Aged Care Reforms are changing the way home care services are delivered in Australia giving older people more choice and control over the services they receive at home.
We continue to actively seek recognition of the positive contribution that older people make economically and socially to Queensland. We are strong advocates for an Age-friendly Queensland promoting intergenerational interactions, to enable people to grow to their fullest capacity.
OTA Queensland, the seniors peak body, has called on the newly elected Government to honour older Queenslanders with practical support.
"All Members of Parliament need to represent the older people in their electorates who are doing it tough," said COTA Queensland Chief Executive, Mark Tucker-Evans
COTA Queensland has called on the Queensland Government to remember older tenants, jobseekers, and regional patients travelling to medical appointments, in the lead up to the 2013-14 State Budget.
