The Department of Environment and Science has consulted with COTA Queensland on the Plan, which identifies climate change risks to health and wellbeing, and includes priority actions for adaptation.
COTA Queensland is committed to advocating and facilitating age-friendly environments which foster the health, well-being, and participation of people as they age. Such environments are inclusive, equitable, safe and supportive, and promote health, wellness, and longevity.
OTA Queensland, the seniors peak body, has called on the newly elected Government to honour older Queenslanders with practical support.
"All Members of Parliament need to represent the older people in their electorates who are doing it tough," said COTA Queensland Chief Executive, Mark Tucker-Evans
There was a shared view from many participants that ‘feeling invisible’ hindered their daily lives, their relationships with people, and the accessing of the support services they required. While a wide range of issues were discussed, there were some key themes which emerged.
