The Human Rights Act 2019 will protect 23 rights, including the right to privacy, access to education and health services, cultural rights, and more, and is expected to commence on 1 January 2020.
Older Queenslanders deserve to have their human rights upheld, be valued and respected in our society. Particularly those who may have declining health and cognitive abilities.
The Department of Environment and Science has consulted with COTA Queensland on the Plan, which identifies climate change risks to health and wellbeing, and includes priority actions for adaptation.
The objective of the strategy is for every Queenslander to have safe, secure, and affordable homes that meet their needs and enables participation in social and economic life.
