There is an individual and collective responsibility of all those in the health system, including consumers, to identify and reduce any care provided to patients that is of low benefits.
When we focus on the group of older Australians who are not doing so well at the moment, we see numerous challenges related to finances, health, age discrimination and a general lack of trust in Government and the future.
Today most Queenslanders can expect to live into their eighties and some beyond. Longer life provides the opportunity to reconsider not only what older age might be but how our whole lives might unfold.
