Providers are designing and delivering services with and for their local communities
Community transport providers are making a critical difference to the lives of people in regional and rural communities. These government-subsidised services utilise existing community infrastructure (for example, community centres) and community assets (for example, retired population as volunteer drivers ). They are responsive to people’s needs, connecting with health appointments, shopping and community relationships, and enabling ageing-in-place to become a reality.
This video is the story of two community transport providers in Hervey Bay and Murgon Queensland and how their services contribute to the outcomes for an individual, community, and the healthcare system.
