COTA Queensland believes that the Queensland Government must take more concerted action to assist those seniors who for a variety of reasons find themselves displaced from appropriate housing and made homeless.
Housing is a key issue, and it has significant implications for many aspects of older people’s lives. Planning ahead is critical. Housing decisions are complex, often have emotional implications and for some older people decisions may be made under stress.
COTA Queensland is committed to advocating and facilitating age-friendly environments which foster the health, well-being, and participation of people as they age. Such environments are inclusive, equitable, safe and supportive, and promote health, wellness, and longevity.
Glaucoma is often referred to as the “sneak thief of sight”. It results in vision loss, usually starting with the peripheral or side vision. Because changes, in most cases, occur very slowly, people are often unaware there is anything wrong with their eyes. Glaucoma cannot be self-detected.
