The University of Queensland is officially the first university in the Southern Hemisphere to join the global Age Friendly University Network, recognised by the WHO as part of its “Age Friendly World” initiative. We provided support for the application and will join the steering committee, continuing our work with universities in Queensland to support research and education in ageing, and to promote age-friendly principles.
