Sharing B.OLD stories through the month of May

To support Queenslanders coming together to fight COVID 19, the Queensland Government has delayed community filming for the B.OLD 2020: be B.OLDer short documentary series. The closing date for story entries has again been extended until Monday 1 June 2020, giving more people an opportunity to share a story about an extraordinary older community member.

The entries received so far have highlighted the diverse roles older Queenslanders are playing in our age-friendly communities – including carers, volunteers, firefighters, film-makers, surf life savers, sculptors and more.

We know there are many more B.OLD fantastic stories out there – and you are invited to share yours!

Ten stories will be selected by a panel of expert judges and matched with production teams who will plan and coordinate filming on location in communities across Queensland. Grants of $1000 are on offer for the individual who submits a story that is produced as a short documentary film.

The resulting short film series — B.OLD 2020: be B.OLDer — will be filmed when safe to do so and screened around the state later this year.

Are you an extraordinary older community member with an inspirational story or do you know someone that is?
