Infection Prevention and Control Training for Aged Care Providers in Queensland

Infection Prevention and Control training for staff is vital to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection in Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACF).

To support COVID-19 preparedness in the aged care sector (residential aged care facilities and community care) and non-government disability services, the Commonwealth and Queensland Government is supporting Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) training at TAFE Queensland locations across the state.

This professional development opportunity will benefit existing staff seeking an IPC refresher, as well as those who have not previously had formal IPC training. It is offered free of charge to eligible participants.

Pilot courses are being held in January 2021 in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, and further courses will be rolled out based on demand. TAFE Queensland can also deliver dedicated courses for larger organisations with 15 or more employees wishing to attend.

Further information about the course can be found in the TAFE Queensland Information Sheet.

If you are unable to attend any of the pilot workshops, please complete their survey to assist them to design times and locations that are more suitable during another round.  Click here to complete the survey.
