The Centre for Universal Design Australia has launched a new FREE e-learning course on universal design in housing:
Home Coming? Framing Housing Policy for the Future.
The course is designed to assist policy makers, urban planners, housing professionals and home builders. Home designers and homeowners will find it useful too.
The course explores the issues and impact of applying universal design features in all new and extensively renovated homes. It gives a statistical context, discusses the economics of households, sustainability and housing affordability.
The Livable Housing Design Guidelines are discussed in the context of drawing together the issues and solutions.
It takes about an hour to do and when you complete the course you will be issued with a certificate.
One of the aims of this course is to make the complexities of housing policy easier to navigate.
