$1000 on offer for B.OLD stories

People, community groups and organisations across Queensland are proving age is no barrier — and all Queenslanders are being encouraged to share those stories.

Any Queenslander can submit a local story about an inspirational older person, group or event that challenges stereotypes of ageing for a chance to receive a $1000 grant.

The stories could be about artists, athletes, Elders, volunteers, entrepreneurs or employees.

The stories might also:

  • feature individuals, groups or activities in regional and remote settings
  • explore intergenerational connections, or
  • celebrate diverse cultural perspectives and experiences.

Video production crews will be matched with local individuals and groups featured in the ten stories selected to be made into short documentaries for the B.OLD 2020 short film series. The films will be released for local screening throughout Queensland during Seniors Month celebrations in August.

Entries close on Monday 30 March.
